The Bean Museum is a wonderful free museum filled to the brim with animal exhibits of all kinds. There are so many taxidermied animals on display here that everyone is bound to find their favorite animal here. It's filled almost to the point of sensory overload. But kids of all ages love walking through the museum, discovering what is around each new corner.
If you call ahead or look on the website, you can plan your visit to coincide with one of the Museum's animal encounters. Friendly and knowledgeable museum workers and researchers spend time showing off some live versions of the animals you can see in the museum. The presenters are all wonderful and know how to make things fun and exciting, especially for the kids. This is a free attraction that would be worth visiting even if the entrance fee was a few dollars. A great way to pass a few hours.
