One of the newest temples, dedicated in 2014 and the Church's 143rd temple, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida temple is a beautifully designed, tropically-inspired, sacred building. One that will provide the melting pot of Saints here a haven from the world. This is the 2nd temple to be built in Florida and a much needed one in the southern Florida area. As with many faithful saints, members have had a long history of needing to travel far distances (as far as Salt Lake City and Washington DC) to reach a temple in the past. Now, they are blessed to have a sacred edifice within close proximity. The dominant arches and columns anchor the temple and the skyward spire draws your eye upward. A unique architecture design. With tropical hues of greens, blues and golds and sun and palm tree patterns, it's truly fit for the sunny Florida area and blends in beautifully with it's surroundings.
