COSI is a childrens museum focusing on science and industry. The entry fee may seem a little steep, especially if you choose any add-ons (Featured Exhibits, Adventure, Extreme Movie), but you could spend several hours (4-5) here due to the many exhibits. There's 320,000 square feet of floor space to be exact.
One of the major attractions is riding a unicycle in the air on a cable while a counterweight hangs below keeping you upright. Make sure you get in line for this attraction first thing in the morning, otherwise there could be a long wait. Many of the exhibits are changing frequently, so you'll probably see something different on each visit. Older kids can solve mind-bending puzzles, drive a simulated mars rover, work a giant level and present a newscast. Younger kids, can look at x-rays and drive an ambulance, play in a tree and create water-scapes.
If the permanent exhibits aren't enough, you can choose several other adventures (for a nominal fee). In Adventure in the Valley of the Unknown, you are given clues to solve and are taken to interesting places, such as a remote island and tunnels. Then, you are taken back to an ancient civilization where statues come to life to guide you on your journey. Sort of like an Indiana Jones mystery that you solve.
